Note to self: Your comfort zone will kill you

It is said one shouldn’t exude comfort with the current position of things if you haven’t made the desired impact, you have always strived for. The reality is, why settle for less, especially since you’ve begun to make sense of your existence; trust me, this has nothing to do with being content.

Though contentment is great gain, one shouldn’t settle for mediocrity especially when you strongly believe you deserve more and are capable of doing something worthy about it.

Lone thinker

For the record, life doesn’t care a rat’s ass about you; it’s not life’s responsibility to produce something useful out of you or give you the comfort you think you deserve.

Few nuggets that can help you navigate life:

  • First off, only by attempting to add value on a daily to self, can one truly level up and finally stand out.
  • Secondly, in order to make an impact, you got to figure your life out.
  • Also, life can be very mean and leave no prisoners, amidst all the struggle you can attain great value by being disciplined and this is not necessary because you are hardworking, but rather because you fundamentally refuse to give up depending on your goals.
  • Finally, your character strength is indicated by the degree of your unwavering resolve and confidence in the value you have created or are now developing and most importantly, how tenaciously you can hold onto it.

Currently, there is a deluge of poorly crafted information flying on social media along with a flood of conflicting ideas, especially from “Cheap influencers” who attempt to dilute the age-old truth that you must navigate your life, put in the work, and above all realize that life is a rat race in which your level of value contribution is sometimes significantly impacted by the opportunities that are available to you.

Ways to secure and maintain our life goals and ambitions:

  • First off, never allow it to happen that you didn’t work on your dreams.
  • Secondly, if you figured out that achieving your dreams requires you to help someone else realize theirs, don’t give up on them.
  • Also, we don’t have all the time to procrastinate on our life goals perhaps out of fear of failure, a place of comfort, or because we honestly can’t afford them due to financial constraints.
  • Finally, remember that there is nothing worse than wondering about the road not taken. You could have ended up a colossal failure or a super big hit, but you would never know if you never tried, and that, my friend, is a surefire way to regret.

Inevitably, at a given time, we would be standing before the giver of life to give an account of a life that we never attempted to live to its optimum capacity possible, at least by our standards.

It’s therefore noteworthy to self, that we can always be our best selves and that there is nothing more gratifying than knowing that we gave our best effort.
